What would you do if the technology we already use every day was about to become more powerful than almost anyone is prepared for?
That’s the question I kept coming back to in this conversation with Daniel Kokotajlo.
Daniel was an Artificial Intelligence (AI) safety researcher at OpenAI who walked away from the company because he was deeply concerned by the speed at which superintelligence was being built and whether the people building it had a real plan to keep it under control.
Back in 2021, Daniel made specific predictions about what AI would look like by 2026 and many of them have already happened.
Now he’s looking ahead at what he believes could happen before the end of this decade and it’s something I think everyone running a business, building a career, or simply living in the modern world needs to understand.
Daniel isn’t speaking like someone trying to scare people - he’s speaking like someone who has spent years looking at the raw data, the incentives, the corporations, the governments and the ACTUAL speed of progress.
We discussed things like:
- Why he chose to leave OpenAI and speak publicly.
- Why he believes superintelligence could arrive in the next few years.
- How AI could fundamentally change jobs, the economy and the military.
- The race between companies and countries makes this so difficult to control.

I use AI every day. I invest in companies using AI. I can see the extraordinary upside of this technology and it is going to continue becoming a massive part of all of our lives and careers. The question is whether we understand it quickly enough to make better decisions.

For 20 years, Dustin Poirier walked towards a level of pressure most of us might never understand.
He turned professional as an MMA fighter and spent nearly two decades building a legacy as one of the most violent, resilient lightweights the UFC has ever seen.
He fought 41 times, knocked out Conor McGregor, went through brutal wars with Justin Gaethje and Max Holloway, plus won an interim world title.
Then at 36, the fighting stopped.
But I didn't sit down with Dustin just to talk about the UFC. I wanted to understand what happens when the gloves come off, the calendar empties and the one thing that gave your life structure for two decades is gone.
Dustin brought up a line that stayed with me: "If you're lucky, you get to die twice."
The first death happens when you retire. The crowds vanish, the character you played for your adult life is buried and you have to work out who you are without it. To understand why that first death hurts so much, you have to understand how that identity was born.
But everything has a cost.
As Dustin told me: "I just wanna dream again."
We spoke openly about losing your identity doesn't excuse a mistake, and he knows that. But it does show how fragile the transition out of elite sport can be.
We went deep into:
- Why retirement has been harder than he expected.
- His recent arrest at Atlanta airport: the role alcohol played and the public criticism that followed.
- The fragmented relationship with his father, which led to how fighting became the place he put all of his anger.
- Just how lack of structure can make alcohol dangerous.
- Brain trauma, Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) and the long-term cost of contact sports.
- There being no roadmap for fighters when they retire.
- The Good Fight Foundation: from water wells in Uganda to backpacks for kids in Louisiana.
This isn't just about fighting. It's about what happens to anyone when the thing that defined them is suddenly gone.

"Women need to stop trying to be losers." When Dr Stephanie Estima said this to me a few minutes into our conversation, she didn't mean it as an insult. She meant that almost every piece of health advice women have been given for decades has been built entirely around loss.
Stephanie is a women’s health expert, chiropractor and author who specialises in female physiology. At one point during our chat, I looked across at her and said, “I can see you’re a little bit pissed off”.
And I could. After 20 years in clinical practice, she says the same pattern kept showing up in women of every age and background and she's had enough.
She believes women have been told their worth is based on how small they are. Stephanie wants to change that by helping women understand how the female body actually works and what it needs to GAIN, not lose.

Rachel is a board-certified urologist and sexual medicine specialist and one of ONLY 80 doctors in the US trained to treat both male and female sexual health.
Before we started recording, Rachel said “I’m filled with rage”…
She explained that people are being denied basic information about their bodies, hormones, sexual health and the treatments that could improve their quality of life…
I said to Rachel in this conversation that it’s staggering that so many women are still being let down by the medical system. It makes you think - if men were in this exact situation, would this be the case?
We discussed things like:
- Why so many women are told their symptoms are normal when they are actually treatable.
- Why Testosterone is not just a male hormone.
- How hormones can affect UTIs, libido, pain during sex and overall quality of life.
- If doctors are properly trained in women’s sexual health.

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been fascinated by American politics. Back then, I used to watch the elections, every interview and all the debates from my bedroom, trying to figure out why a system thousands of miles away felt so consequential to my life.

Why does working harder no longer feel like enough?
That was the question I kept coming back to in this debate between Daniel Priestley and Nick Hanauer.
Because everywhere you look, people are angry. They’re doing the work and following the rules, but still feeling like security and opportunity are moving further away.
Nick’s view is that capitalism only works when the people doing the work are properly included in it. Better wages, better standards and companies being forced to treat people with dignity.
Daniel agrees that people are being left behind, but he thinks the deeper problem is ownership.
His point is that if people don’t own a home, a business, shares or any part of the system, then they don’t really feel like they’re part of capitalism at all.
We discussed things like:
- Better wages and protections and whether they can solve a deeper ownership gap.
- If taxing the rich a real solution or political slogan?
- AI changing the value of human labour.
- Small businesses caught between government pressure and corporate scale.
- People losing faith in an economy that no longer gives them a stake.
What I kept trying to understand was where the middle ground is.
One version of capitalism creates growth but leaves too many people behind.
Another version protects people but can make it harder for businesses to grow, hire and take risks.
That’s why this conversation felt so important. I was genuinely trying to understand where the middle ground is, because if people don’t feel protected by the system or included in the upside of it, it’s easy to understand why so many are losing faith in it.
